Navigating the interface

The dashboard is the initial page you see when you log in. It contains all your courses and blocks with utilities for managing the site. The image below shows an example of a dashboard page.

The Navigation block is a collapsible menu that contains links to any page. This allows you to easily navigate to other parts of your site. The list of links in the navigation block changes depending on what page you are in. If you access a course, more links will be added to the navigation block enabling you to move about the course sections, access the course gradebook, go to your other courses, access the dashboard, etc.

To open and close the Navigation block, click the hamburger icon (≡) at the upper-right corner of the site.

The Breadcrumb navigation bar (or “breadcrumb links”) begins with a link to the Dashboard. Further links to the right show your location. Select the course name to return to your course page from a sub-page. The image below shows an example of a breadcrumb navigation bar.
