An Overview of Turnitin Plagiarism Checker

About Turnitin plagiarism checker

Turnitin plagiarism checker is a plugin that, when added to assignments and forums, can help teachers evaluate the originality of students’ work by comparing their work to online sources and the Turnitin database. It then returns a report which rates submitted assignments and highlights text that appears elsewhere. Teachers can have their students submit their assignments to Turnitin or use it to assess submissions with suspected plagiarism.

You can use the Turnitin plagiarism checker in two ways. One is by Adding a Turnitin Assignment Activity. The other one is by Using the Turnitin Plagiarism Plugin.

The Turnitin assignment activity and Turnitin plagiarism plugin for assignments and forums are not yet supported in the Moodle Mobile app. If you want to use said activities, use them in a web browser and advise your students to do the same. You can still access a forum that uses the Turnitin plagiarism plugin in the mobile app and still see and generate the Similarity report for the post but not for the file attached (if any).
